Well when not in use I will be parking my wifes bronco on out back yard. It has a cover on it now but Im not sure if its waterproof. So, should I use a cover on it and if so can you guys recommend a good really strong one? Also, I plan on parking it on a heavy tarp to keep moisture from rusting it. Would th esilver reflective tarps hurt anything from the sun reflecting off of it? Any other storage tips?

Are you keeping it covered for months or weeks at a time? A simple cotton blanket and tarp should be fine. Hold it all down with bungee cords. There a couple of vendors that sell decent covers, cheap to expensive. I'd get a cheap one as long as you keep it in shade and under cover. Since you are in Jersey I'd get a good top that can handle the snow and salts.

Car cover + high wind = very hard on your paint. It will get scratched or worn down. I would put several coats of carnauba wax on it before doing this. Get a cover with a very soft liner.

Won't the tarp underneath actually keep more water under the entire vehicle versus allowing it to naturally percolate into the yard around the perimeter of your ride??

Just a thought.....

As far as I know dampness comes out of the ground. It would be better if I could lay some stone down but that aint an option.

X2 on the cover rubbing the paint - try to find a soft cover - the upper sides of my front fenders look like someone sanded them. I've noticed that when I park in the backyard covered, it tends to gather moisture on the frame rails and axle housings and it makes me cringe. If the deal with the tarp works, please let me know.

If your driving it every other week your not really storing it but rather just parking it. Why the need for a cover?? I wouldnt even worry about the solar panel unless it sits for over 6 months. The cover would do more harm than good in my opinion. Unless you dont have a top id just park it like we do any other vehicle. My trucks sit outside for there entire life uncovered and youd never know it! You guys baby your broncos so much it makes me laugh, drive it, beat on it, and drive it some more. Your gona be really pissed when a 200 dollar cover scratches a $5000 paint job!

I have a Covercraft Weathershield HD cover. You can go to there website look at them but I can tell you this cover wont scratch your paint and the fit like a glove on your truck. I used it for long time and it sheds water like a duck but doesnt hold any moisture underneath. There not cheap but you get what ya pay for. We picked one up for my crewcab when its not garaged and it keeps my truck spotless.

Start and drive every other week, that isn't storage it's normal use.

No need to cover or anything else. Just keep driving it.

A tarp will trap moisture. A high quality stormproof cover specific to your Bronco would be the way to go. Like others have said the high winds could be an issue. Better yet, lock the hubs and drive it in the snow...
