Strange Noise After Clutch Replacement

With the motor running and tranny in nuetral gently move the clutch "fork arm/throw out arm" forward and backward. You'll be able to feel when the throwout bearing contacts the fingers on the clutch disk . You might also be able to feel if the throwout bearing is contacting the clutch disk prematurly

If I adjust the rod any closer, the clutch engages right off the floor board. I spent a couple of hours trying to adjust things to get it right. Had about 1/4” play. I’ll mess with it again tomorrow. Thanks
