Right now, I am planning on driving my '75 out from Missouri there. It will be out of paint in a couple of weeks. It has been very good mechanically. I will use mostly scenic routes out there that I have taken before. I have spent time in and around the Smokies quite a bit and know the area. Is anyone else making the trip in their EB from my area?

I'm from Missouri, what part are you from? 60 miles west of STL from me. I'm going to be trailering mine out... There are a couple I know that are driving theirs from Missouri as well, Warrensburg area for them.

Need opinions and advice. I am trying to decide on the best way to get my rig to the event. I can either rent a U-Haul Trailer or pony up the money and buy one. Hate to buy one right now because I would probably only use it twice a year. Briefly looked at a 16' Big Tex. Its about a 8 hour trip for me. I don't know about the U-Haul Surge breaks in the mountains.

Anyone know or hear of any of the events planned outside of the show site? I know they were talking extra adventures last year but I have not heard anything on that. Just curious as to what to be prepared for, what I want to participate in etc.

We have rented a U-haul in the past, they work good, but you need to use your own tie down straps. The tire hoops will be too small for your Bronco.

However a trailer is handy when you need it. Good investment, IMO. Especially if you keep going to SC. You could buy a trailer by the time you rent one for 5 years.

Keeps an eye on the Duffs for something that week also. Their shop is in Knoxville and there might be some plans.

Also look in the sky that weekend for the Blue Angels. They will be at the airport in Alcoa april 14-15.

Its kind of difficult to make reservations when you don't know the schedule of events. Most places are booked already too.

Sort of off topic but when towing on an open trailer what are folks using to protect the bronco from road debris, rocks, etc? Can't imagine the car cover would hold up to that driving. Is most crapped kicked up from the tow vehicle?
