Hey Roger, let me know if you decide to make the trip in your Bronco. I'm driving up to SC from Savannah and will be leaving on Wednesday afternoon.

Tried to do something like that last year. Drove from North Michigan en route to Super celebration. Well I sure hope you have better luck than I did. I had engine problems and a good friend had to come to my rescue. Made it to Super celebration but only for a half a day. I still had fun however. Thought about trying it again this year. this time from FL to SC. I hope you have a great time. My trip is below.

And away we go....
The rough running problem that prevented us from driving the Bronco to the Wild Horses gathering has been solved! Turned out not to be a fuel issues but an ignition problem. Solved by removing the Petronix flame thrower 2 distributor & coil, and installing a new Petronix. Many thanks to Paul (aka DirtDonk) at Wild Horses for his time and efforts in helping me trouble shoot this "ghost in the machine" problem, it was not an obvious read.
On the road this morning after a few more last minute packing details. Really looking forward to meeting up with all the Bronco folks in Tennessee.

Day 1 on the road: 300 miles done, 2,200 or so to go.
Today was all about agriculture. Out of the redwoods at home, down along the coast for a bit (suck in a good breath of salty sea air) make a left turn inland at Castroville, artichoke capital of the world. Then it starts, hundreds upon hundred of acres of strawberries, lettuce, and then thousands of acres of grapes, almonds, and then tangerines. Then feed lots and wonderful fresh cut alfalfa followed by miles of orange trees in blossom. Just a wonderful spring drive across the state and best of all the Bronco just purred along. Bigger miles needed tomorrow.
Photo is car along almond trees.

How was the engine running? Any issues? Keep dibs on tranny fluid, oil, brake fluid, and all the other "stuff" people used to be mindful of checking back in the day!

Come see me at the GCM Racing tinytruck booth!!!

I think the blue was just some pics from the wild horses event he attended over the weekend.

Day 2: 443 miles= 734 in the rearview mirror, looks endless out the windshield.
We are in flagstaff, Arizona, got in late last night and this am (Friday) looking out the window at rain..
Back to day 2 (Thursday ) a day of completion and desert magic. Completion for Walker. Last year he hiked the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada, 2,650 miles. Well, almost... Where the trail comes close to a town and the trail crosses a road it is common to hitch a ride into town to resupply. Which he did into Tehatchapi, only when he hitched back to the trail he got dropped off at the wrong spot skipping 9 miles of the trail. So, our route to the Super Celebration crosses the PCT at the exact section where he missed those 9 miles. While I spent time checking over the Bronco regarding all things mechanical Walker hiked those 9 missing miles for his day of completion. Hurray!
Back on the road it was a day desert driving magic made very enjoyable by cool temps along with cloud cover. At one point it rained a bit and we got to enjoy the not to comm experience moist desert fragrance, totally intoxicatingly.
The Bronco is continuing to just cruise smoothly on down the road... Keeping my fingers crossed.
EB sighting: only 2

Finally, into a new State

Oh gosh, let me try the photo download again. What a rookie!
Well I'm having some trouble with this, but need to hit the road, sorry. I'll try again later.
