Steve, It was great to me you and Walker. Your adventurous spirits are inspiring. Good luck on the way home and we look forward to following Walker on the trail.

Day 25: back out West

Day 25: 5,368 driven, 634 to home....
Since leaving the super celebration I have been to Bristol (yes, that was a great race, really fun time), down to Georgia to drop off Walker at the start of the Appalachian Trail, and then down and over to Atlanta where my wife had flown into from California for the continuation of the road trip back across the country.
We actually returned to The Great Smokey Mointains to hike and bike around, and dodge the weather. Plans and routes remained in a flux heading north and then west trying to skirt weather fronts which we more or less succeeded at.
Out West we made a loop up thru Santa Fe New Mexico and into Colorado to visit friends. in the process we crossed over some high passes at 8,500 feet where the Bronco surprisingly ran very well. We have also twice now driven in snow. So happy the heater and wipers work!!
Currently in Arizona and should arrive home tomorrow. Walker is hiking his way north with about 160 traveled I would guess. He has started posting to his blog and if interested in following along I have copied in a link.
Let the adventure continue......
