I am installing my new lift and everything I have ever read or heard was to nstall with the open side of the shackle towards the rear. Now, the WH website shows the opposite with the super shackle. I already installed one as pictured, but want to know for sure before I proceed. I am n my wife's iPad and don't have a clue ow to link to the website. Can someone please look at what they have posted and tell me?

Yes, you're right. The stock shackle orientation is with it open to the back. And the Wild Horses pic shows it open to the front. But to me, as long as the shackle doesn't bind, from full compression to full droop, then it shouldn't matter. I'm getting ready to make my own shackles, using rectangular tubing in the middle. Hmm... closed front and back... Now what?

I don't see how it could bind. I cycle it and it appears to be okay this way. Anyone else want to pipe in? Thanks Steve

Are the WH shackles closed on both sides? The picturers I have seen only show one side.

These are made by NixTrix, so I checked their site and saw they are using them like shown in the picture above. I'll follow their example.

Just for everyone elses future reference, WH and NicksTrix both confirmed that their super shackles are supposed to be installed as pictured above. Thank God I already did it this way.

the stock shackle design allows it to bind prematurly if installed the wrong way. It looks like the super shackle is a straight design and could probably go either way.

Not quite bknbronco. Close, but the larger reinforcement plate would cause trouble (with the spring itself if I remember) if reversed from the picture.
Both types of shackles will "work" either way, but both of them have only one proper direction to get that sweet spot.
