If swaping from a manual trans BE SURE TO REMOVE THE PILOT BUSHING from the end of the crank!
Fill the void full of grease, then get a round metal bar or wooden dowel that fits in the hole somewhat close. Hit it with a hammer and the hydraulic action will push the bushing out.
If you do not remove this the hub of the torque convertor will interfere and not allow the bell housing to bolt up all the way and the following will occur:
- It will seem like it is going on and you will use those longr bolts to just juet it started
- You will then tighten them just a bit more to help it along as youwonder what the hell is hanging up.
- You will then hear a loud pop followed by cursing when you realize the bell housing is cracked
- You then have to ask a good friend with a TIG to fix your F-up
Or so I have been told! :-X:-[
