Switched 12v power in the wiper motor harness?

Is there any key switched 12v power in the wiper motor harness? I'm looking for key switched and not power that is only switched by the dash switch. I acquired a rear view mirror with compass & outside temp and I need power to the mirror. I was thinking of tapping in up there if possible?

Thanks Viperwolf....that is key switched not dash switched? So any time the key is on, the red wire has power?

Or/Wh is also key-switched, but it's NOT protected by the wiper switch's internal circuit breaker (or any other fuse/breaker).

It's only 12V when the wiper switch is in low and the key is on.

It looks like (763) is not in the wire harness plug though.

One more layer to this tech question now. I found a rear view mirror with compass/temp(key switched power for this) & a map light on the bottom of it. So....is there 12v constant power in the wiper harness also? I'd like to be able to turn the map light on without keying on. Thanks in advance.

I can't see this mirror drawing that much power but I'm no electrical engineer. Anyone think tapping power for the mirror will overload the wiper circuit? Thanks in advance.

Maybe. Do you have the wiper cover light circuit? If so you can use that circuit as a constant power by leaving the switch on. That's what I did. The mirror doesn't use much current.

That's a good question. I'll have to dig into the wiring harness and find out. My Bronco is a 69 and the wiper cover was long gone when I acquired the Bronco 12+ years ago. My headlight switch does have a click one direction when adjusting the brightness so that makes me think there was a dome light of some sort.

Next one to figure out is how to get a few small gauge wires down the windshield frame passage where the wiper wiring passes thru. I need at least 2 wires for the temp sensor that goes outside the cab. There may be a few more depending on what else I hook up.
Thanks VW

The dome light wiring shouldn't be there before '73 or so. The headlight switch is the same though. It was used to control the optional map light. If you need to run some temp wires you may as well run a constant power wire also. Make sure to fuse it. 3 amps is plenty.

Yep, no dome light wiring. Just 4 wires going up the windshield frame; black, white, red, blue.

With the rubber plug ends on the wiper harness I don't see how those wires can pass thru the windshield frame though.
