Tale of 2 hydroboost

Been working on the hydroboost swaps on both broncos. Did the 66 first and it made me buy a set up for the 72. On the 66 got the brakes bled and it feels pretty good but the pedal is kinda low. On the 72 I'm pretty sure it needs to be bled better. With that said the pedal sits really high. A buddy did the under dash stuff. Did he get something wrong or should there be more adjustment on pedal height? Also on the 72 it feels like my pedal travel is maxing out before its stopped all the way. It will stop but it doesn't feel right. Is this just air in the lines or do I need to dig into what he did under the dash? With my back issues twisting my way under th dash isnt the fun it use to be.

I'd think the rod from the Pedal to inside the m/c IS TOO SHORT.

I remember tofic. He also made the clear t-case covers. He had lots of good info.
He is still around. I bought a clear best-case cover from him last year.

There are different length "push rods" that come out of the front to engage the master cylinder and then you have different length push rod that goes from the booster to the pedal itself. The problem is with one or both of these along with potentially what style master cylinder - basically low, medium and deep recesses.

My first one would go to the floor just to engage the other one was super high. I would start with the connection between the booster and master cylinder to make sure it is right.

I would look at the push rod as well.

I ended up making my own out of a high grade bolt. I kept turning it down until there was about .010" clearance when the booster and MC were bolted together. Works great.

The guy at the rebuild shop adjusted the mc rod. Had to buy the little push rod extension to make up for the adapter that turns the mc 90°. Right now I'm leaning toward the under dash adjustment since I didnt put that part in myself.

Yep I saw him online a week or two ago and sent him a quick Thank You PM for the junkyard list I created from a bunch of his posts ;D

Which hydro-boost unit are you using?

Not sure what they are. Bought em in a kit from a place 73 stallion recommended. Hopefully they're out of business by now so none else gets suckered by em. First kit was ok so I bought a second. Second kit was missing parts and he quit returning calls.

Drove the 66 a while today. Pedal I still kinda low but seems to be working good. Need to adjust the proportioning valve so the rear dont lock so easy.
