The instructions call for a "Starter Cable" that runs from the battery side of the Solenoid to the starter which I do not currently have as it's a new build. What gauge wire does this need to be?

Same as the other battery cables. I generally run 4-gauge. 2-gauge is a bit overkill even for overkill standards unless you are running a diesel. 6-gauge will probably work fine, but I step it up a notch and just use 4

Unless you are talking about the little wire that goes to the solenoid on the starter, that is a lot smaller.

Ok, thanks for the info. One other issue now....

I've just test fit the starter to the bell housing and there is no way it's engaging with the flexplate. Looks like the gear on the starter has has about 5/8" mounting depth. I measured the depth of the block plate mounting surface to the flexplate and its easily over 5/8". To grab the gears it looks like it would need at least 1".

I have a Bronco C4 with 164 tooth flexplate and the Auto mini starter from Tom's. I'm fairly sure the flexplate etc is installed correctly as Viperwolf1 bolted it up.

Any ideas?
