Google searched this, no definitive answer. Newly rebuilt D20, T shift, JB FaB twin stick conversion, NV3550, 289 in '68 Bronco. Pops out of 2 HI on downshift from 3-2 or when unloaded abruptly. New build, I really don't want to keep it in gear with a bungee cord....Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Check the drive shaft yokes at both the transfer case and the rear end for looseness. Thouraligy check the drive shaft components and straightness and balence. Also check the motor mounts and transmission and crossmember mounting.

Okay, will do. It does seem to move a little, rocking forward if that makes sense.

Also check for adequate clearance between the shifter and the " floor /tunnel" area when in 2 hi to make sure body and tranny movement aren't kicking you out of gear.
I've got almost the identical setup on my '68 ( different motor) and are real happy with the combo.

Okay, I'll check that too. I really like the setup as well, especially now that we have a Fitech that actually works. That's a whole nother story.
