i glad you said it already, i was about to go off...tired of some of the "hating" i keep seeing showing up on threads.%)

thats a great bronco, cant wait to see how much nicer it becomes!!! wish we had more stroppes round here

I'm not hatin... And I love to see great builds. I genuinely hope it turns out to be all he wants it to be. To clarify I said what I said before he stated that it had been repainted. I retract what I had said and apologize.

Love those Stroppe's! I never even knew there was one so close. Will be following your buildup!

I have to agree

Guys, it's his truck to do with whatever he pleases. Stop stealing someone's joy and just enjoy what will surely be a nice build. Or make him an offer for double what he's got in it, reassemble it, and do with it "what you would do". %)

I'm sure I have been guilty myself of forcing my opinion on a thread when it wasn't asked for.

He didn't ask if he should restore it. I looks like a great truck. It looks like he wants to rebirth it as it came from Stroppe and it looks like he has a nice shop to work on it in. It should be a nice build when done.

Man that is sweet. My in-laws live in New Braunfels and we're there quite a bit. Never seen that one around. Does it get driven around town? From your post it sounds like you guys are doing a frame off resto because you got bored or business is slow. Glad you decided to do something with it...looks like it was barely salvagelable.LOL.

Awesome rig. I'm jealous!! Keep the pics coming.

Thanks for the feedback, I do Live in the New Braunfels area but have never driven the truck around town (I do drive my 77 Orange Ranger Bronco around on the weekends). The Stroppe has been sitting in my shop in San Antonio since I got it from my brother who lives in Houston (and he never drove it either, the down side of us both working way to much and having numerous cars, (Hey I told my wife if that the worst habit I have it is OK lol). The reason for tearing into it 2 fold, 1-I am not and will not be using it in the condition it is in, 2-I have a 69 Talladega I am doing a ground up resto on and am expecting it to come back from the paint shop this week and kinda need the room. I will keep posting pics as we get it further apart and let everyone know as it progresses.
and thanks to everyone for the positive encouragement, Tom

Great to see this truck getting restored! I pulled it out of the woods in Washington state about 10 years ago, complete but with a broken trans. I can post some "as found" pics if you want, but I think your brother has them too. ... If ya don't mind.

On the cactus smasher, that really didn't come out til mid 73. Also, the slot mags were more a later Stroppe item.

Hey Andrew, good to hear you pitching in on it.
As you probably know by now, I got the Baja from my brother Shawn shortly after he bought the other one from you. I really wanted one to complete my collection, and he was gracious enough to help he attain my goal.
I did get pretty much everything from him with the Bronco but don't know about the "as found" pics?
Anyways I am planning a in depth Resto and although want to keep it stock, I might take some liberties with a few Stroppe option like Catus Smasher, Chrome wheels (obviously Shawn did not give me those with this one) and a "era correct" intake and carb. Looking forward to building it and I am sure I will be emailing or calling you for advice or help over the next year.

I did not take anyones comments as such either, I can roll with the punches and realize everyone will have a different opinion here. I am just looking to put my truck back on the road and appreciate any advice and or input from other enthusiasts.
I will put more pics up later today, got to get some work done.

Good progress. That C4 looks like a '71 or earlier. Looks like it may have a serial number stamped on it, something the later, factory C4's didn't get. Any chance of getting some more pics of it? I'd like to see what Stroppe used for a pan and shift lever. Looks like a F-series dipstick too.

Just as I thought, F series shift lever on the trans. Looks like Stroppe took the truck C4 and just swapped in a short tailshaft. Is the pan flat also?

is there a reason you're powder coating the frame? no to deter you, but i had a frame coated, it started rusting thru the coat within 2 years or less. if i ever get to do a frame off on mine, i'll POR15 it and top coat it. then if i decide to weld to the frame for some reason i can touch it up.
