So the 96 E350 351W is sitting in my 74 as I type this. I was happy to find the front accessories from the fan do clear everything however, I have some hurdles to get over.

The stock throttle linkage bracket is slap in the way of the fuel rail connection and it hits the Explore intake bigtime. I had to remove he intake to get the engine in.

Water pump pulley to radiator only has 2.5 inches of clearance. The electric fan I was planning to run needs 2.7 inches and WH suggests 3 inches.

For the throttle bracket, anyone got any suggestions before I start cutting and welding on that bad boy to make it clear? I was planning on running the BC EFI linkage adaptor.

As for the radiator clearance, I guess I'll have to relocate the mounts to get a couple extra 16ths.

If you mean the stock throttle bell crank linkage, then take it all off. Use a Lokar throttle cable.

Regarding the radiator clearance for the electric fan.

When I ran an electric fan I simply off set the thickest part of the fan away from the water pump pulley. I made sure the hub (fattest part of the fan) was not in line with the water pump pulley.
It was a Duff electric fan.

Got a part number or link so I can check that out. Have read where people are using it but have not seen it.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. I don't have the fan yet. I was waiting to see just how much room I was going to have.

I think BC has this throttle cable but I believe it is made by Lokar.

I have the Lokar throttle cable, got it from Wildhorses, I run a Holley 4barrell,maybe it's on their website, can't remember, but just today I had to shorten it 3 times to get the pedal right,so it is easy to trim to whatever length you need, good luck

Ditch that bell crank contraption completely. As others suggested, the vendors sell a cable that replaces all stock components and connects directly to the pedal and the EFI throttle body. Its super simple.

Fan clearance... I moved my radiator closer to the core support and sealed it with some high temp, self-adhesive silicone weather stripping from McMaster. I still use the factory radiator brackets but moved where they mount to the outside of the core support vs the inside how it was stock. That gave me more clearance for the fan, but I too offset the thickest part of the fan motor an inch away from the water pump pulley shaft.

Got the stock throttle bell crank linkage (harder than it sounds) and got the old motor mounts off. Both had some cracking but were in better shape than I expected.

The plan for the radiator clearance is to use the factory radiator brackets but move them to the outside of the core support vs. the inside how it was stock. Should give me what I need.

Guess I over looked a key point on the throttle cable. All the vendors state, "86-93 Ford Mustang throttle body" however my T-body is off an explorer. Will it still work?

Should......or we would have heard about it here with all of the Explorer swaps.

Timmy390 - What water pump are you using? Stock replacement?

I have an E-Series 351w with the Ford, Van serpentine system as well. A mechanical fan with a 1/2" spacer was also installed and clears the 3-Core Champion Aluminum radiator with NO mods at all. Very MINOR trimming on Original Fan Shroud for clearance.

For throttle cable - BC and Lockar both have nice ones.

You still got the cable that was on the engine. I was able to make the one from my 93 donor van work by fabbing a bracket for the end of the stock gas pedal.

I do still have it but it's way too short for me to do anything with. May hit the yard and look for a longer one.

Six cylinder models of that era have much longer cables.
I used one for years that I modified for use with my carb.
