I just looked at the route. I usually kinda wing it put I'll start on 57 go through St. Louis and get on 44 toward Springfield, MO. Then Tulsa, OK city. I'll probably avoid Dallas/ft. Worth cause I'm supposed to be roughing it and I'll end up at a the stockyard at a streak house, drinking, and getting a motel. So I guess that puts me over toward Amerillo the due South.

Here's what I'll be looking like. Thanks for offer in case of trouble.

Wishing everyone a safe and trouble free journey. I have got to do another road trip out west. Lonesomecur, good grief, if you really are traveling topless this time of year, you are made of tougher stuff than I am, it was 15 degrees here in West Virginia this morning; in my mind that is just painful ! Hope everyone makes some special memories.

Got here a little earlier than expected;D awesome place don't know why it took so long to get here. Didn't bring the bronco, brought the wife's FJ. With the bilstein coilovers and rear shocks, it bombs the back roads and trails here in comfort.

Your first picture looks like Santa Elena canyon. Rio Grande comes out of that canyon and turns right (left from the photographer's POV). It's a cool sight from the South Rim trail.

Take I-44 from OKC to Wichita Falls, TX. Then 277 to Abilene. There are about 6 EB nuts here that would love to meet up for lunch of dinner. The drive thru Amarillo-Lubbock-Midland/Odessa is flat and boring.

I think CapRock has about 30000 ac in it. It's a good tour you can drive through .

UPDATE:
Yesterday sucked!! It was -7 when I woke up. I waited until noon to leave. It warmed to 0. I overnighted around St. Louis. It was Zero there overnight. I wasted time today looking for a spare tire. I know, who leaves on a trip without one? ME!

Now I'm in HEAVEN! Oklahoma City stockyards drinking a Shiner Bock waiting on a 16oz ribeye. It's about 40 out I think. I was getting hot driving. LOL

Plan to make Abilene tonight for a night cap. Or at least close. Figure it's warm enough to sleep on the ground tonight so anywhere I get tired will do. Anybody that wants to meet up can call or text 219-871-2331.

WOW YOUR A TUFF Dude ... Going to sleep on the ground.
It shouldn't be to hard for some one to drop off a spare tire & That would at least get you to the next town.
