More room for the AC inside now.

Exactly. I will be installing the evaporator later this week to start plumbing it through the firewall. Connecting it to the condenser etc will be later down the road, right now my focus is to be able to final install the dash and get the wiring going.

I remember getting my BC tank and didn't know to clean it out. Sounded like a hand full off BBs in it after I put gas in it.

always enjoy watching your build. two questions and sorry if you covered this. who plated your bolts? did you have to do anything special to get the bottom pulley to clear the cross member on your explorer front dress?

I used a company I found in Greensboro, NC to do the plating, I think they are called Parker Metal Finishing. As for the pulley to clear, I did nothing. Just new stock motor mounts and I made sure the motor is sitting square to the frame. They tend to try and cock a little when you set them, it is easiest if you level the frame at the crossmember in front of the motor with jack stands and make it solid (not under the axles) and then place the level on the intake manifold in place of the carb or upper intake. You would be surprised at how many that have been pulled at one time are off.

Guess I need to post some updates. Doors are hung and loaded, power windows and door locks as well as sound proofing. Tailgate is hung and I started the task of wiring, ordered more parts and finished painting the hard top today.

Awesome Tom! I want to see it in person!

When I get it all done, I plan on taking a long weekend and heading towards your neck of the woods. Hoping to get a few others to tag along.

The worst part is I have a little over 200 in the shifter and am expecting close to another 100 to have a new label made for it with the correct shift pattern for my T shift.

It's only money Tom, you'll make some more tomorrow!!!! Looking good!!! Now get back to work!!!;D;D;D

I need me one of them NGA trees in my back yard. ;) Just feeling the pain of ordering more parts this morning, wheels, tires, steering column, a bunch of misc. fittings... I will be glad when I am sitting behind the wheel driving this thing!

Hey I was fitting my exhaust this weekend and ran into a clearance issue with the aluminum explorer pan. How close is yours? Which oil pan are you using. I am assuming you trimmed. Couple of pieces to get the tail pipe a little further forward?

Thanks

I'm using the oil pan that came with my 5.0 out of the MKVII which is the same as found in the Mustangs. I had no clearance issues with it, I know BFerrari just mocked his up with the aluminum explorer pan and it cleared, it was tight but still cleared a little. As for relocating mine, yes I did trim a little to get a better fit to my likings. Some off of the piece between the muffler and tailpipe as well as sone off of the pass side bank down pipe to allow the Y to roll over more and get a little more room at the cross member.

I was trying to do the same with rolling it over to get away from frame but that's when I contact the pan with driver side. Agree on trimming to get tailpipe forward and under rear spring hanger.

I'm running explorer pan and M5R2 with BC crossmember. Going to need to "adjust" the pipe a little near the front of trans and pan then also at crossmember.

Main issue I saw though was pass side adapter. Mine is actually about 2 inches shorter than drivers side where is meets 2 into 1 and was fabbed to angle into frame. Instead of slightly away as angle on intermediate pipe makes you assumr. Almost look like last piece on pass side adapter was welded in wrong direction and a little short.
