Love the steps, it is looking awesome if only it wasn't so hot when I was off work I would be motivated to work on it more. Look forward to seeing your site when it gets up too.

They are Amp Research for an 01 Superduty. Basically you have to make them work.

Hey Tom, Great build!! I've been following closely from day one and you haven't disappointed me yet. I really like your choice of wheel and tire combo. Are the BFG's 34 x 10.5? I'm looking at the new 34 x 10.5 x 17' All Terrains.

Continue the great job your doing.

The steps do not tuck completely behind the rocker but they are out of the way. Will get a photo later today if my power comes back on.

Fred, the tires are 35-12.50x17. They actually measure 34.5 x 11.7.

Really, l may have to rethink my tire width. I really like the fit on your rig.

Thank you

Well Duck fans we had a little set back. I am still hopeful I will get to bring it to life this weekend, would be a most excellent Father's Day for me, however in my frugal-ness that we all tend to do with our projects, I bought a Ford Racing set of Fel Pro gaskets on eBay as part of a closeout. Still a great deal however they came with MLS head gaskets and I have never used them before. Well when I loaded it with coolant I had seepage at the base of both heads, thought it was lower bolts with not enough Teflon but after research I learned it is the gaskets. Now IMHO there are no better gaskets than Fel Pro however the MLS gaskets require a super smooth and mirror finish on your mating surfaces or they will leak. So, word to the wise, do not waste your time with MLS unless you are building a high compression full race motor that needs them and BE sure the machine shop preps them properly for MLS. The tolerances are half of what is allowed for normal gaskets. So I am spending my Saturday rather than finalizing wiring and chase a few bugs to prep for the big start, I am doing this.... I sure hope I am the only one who is taking this step backwards this weekend! If you look closely at the photo of the gaskets you can see where the moisture soaked them, Fortunately nothing made it to the oil pan and I am glad I am doing this now prior to it running as if I had started it, I would undoubtedly be replacing the very expensive break in oil along with rolling all new bearings in just to be certain. As it is right now, I at least don't feel like I am losing too much headway.

For 35" tires- they look small under that rig... looks Good Tom!

Thanks Todd! Can't wait for you to see it. I will try to give you a shout when I bring it to Abingdon in the next 7 to 10 days to drop off at the upholstery shop. Maybe you can sneak away for a few and come see it.

Sorry to hear. Truck looks great!! Are you using the torque to yield head bolts? With all the issues I have been seeing with head gaskets I went with brand new late model bolts from fel-pro
