Thoughts on Line X under carpet

Been working on this Bronco for about a year. Purchased with the intent to repair it, drive it for a bit to work the bugs out, and then sell it. Just finished all the rust repair and painted it to match the exterior. I plan to install new carpet and reinstall the original green houndstooth seats, door panels and side panels.

I am considering having the floor area under the carpet sprayed with Line X to provide and additional layer of rust protection, but I know that these coatings can turn off some people. Looking for thoughts and opinions.

Thanks!

If you do put it on, keep these pictures to show the work underneath. I personally wouldn't use it, but would have no issues if I could see what was done prior to application.

As nice as it looks in paint, not sure I’d put bedliner down.

After hours of removing gobs of ancient adhesive, I didn’t want to stick anything back down and made insulation out of 1/4” closed cell foam. The front floor sections were glued with contact cement to make removable “pans” separate from the rest of the floor for ease of future access.

If your going to sell it, I wouldn't line it. Added cost and yes alot of buyers will think you are hiding something.

I did line mine with raptor liner and will cover it with the rubber mats. But I don't ever plan on selling it either.

I have done several with color matched liner ( not black Autozone junk ). Really happy with the look and finished Bronco. Definitely do a good primer first for corrosion protection and better finished product.

I’m in the line it before carpet mindset. I’m approaching paint for my wife’s truck and will shoot raptor liner then lay jute and carpet.

Her truck will never see more than a casual dirt road.

Use a real paint product aka epoxy primer. I was able to pull all of the bed liner out of mine when I started the tear down. Came up in big pieces, and I see hoe it could trap moisture.

Having dealt with carpet/carpet glue and bedliner, I would rather go a round with Mike Tyson than EVER have to do anything with bedliner. That crap is the spawn of satan, at least in my opinion.

Just paint it. No need for the expense and the ? marks that come with bedliner. Use a good seam sealer, prime it and paint to match the rest of the truck. Keep the photos you have to show the work. I would rather buy a truck with a so so paint job then one with a 1/4" bedliner coat. It just screams covering up problems!

Having paid for one of the products that a bed liner Vendor provides, with the surprise price increase after it was applied, I would say no.
I have been happy with tinted Raptor liner and an added bonus is that you can apply it yourself. As stated, having pictures of Before repairs, completed metal replacement, and then the liner applied will be wanted by a buyer. The only negative I can say about Raptor liner is that if you wack it hard enough it can chip off...
Having said all that... in todays world people are not buying Broncos to use as they once were. They get limited use, garage parking space, regular cleaning and a pampered life. Since you are planning on a resale, just seam seal the metal, proper primer, and paint it the body color and it will sell...

if you are laying carpet, i dont see a point spraying line x. I'm personally not a fan of the stuff.

DYIed my own bedliner. It definitely helped lower the noise level in my truck. Plus, at the time, I was a struggling college student. Panel and rust repair weren't in my budget. So, doing a simple sanding, primer and coat of bedliner was my go-to.

I think most people, that want a clean looking build will opt-out of a bedliner Bronco. Unless you are buying it to take it on trails, then go for it.

Best of luck.

My Bronco is nowhere near as nice inside as yours look to be.. But I put Bed liner from spray cans inside in mine.. Then undercoated mine before putting down Black carpet. Mine sure kept out the Dust & Dirt & NOISE.. But mine is used on the farm & Hunting mostly . Yes i'm covering up some crazy repairs. But I don't have a dust bomb.
