Got myself the large F O R D tailgate skin with lettering all along the back like Nugent's cause I really liked it. Don't feel comfortable without a spare and don't want to cover the F O R D. Anyone do anything unique with theirs to hide it either under their un wheeled rig or in the full cab with rear bench. Can the bench be raised for the tire to lay underneath instead of standing up between tailgate and bench?

I would think that if you placed it under the rear seat it would place the average persons head above the roll cage. Dont think that would be very safe. If you are running a hard top you could mount it in a rack on the roof. the only other thing i can think of is depending on size tires you are running it may fit behind the rear seat, just wont give you much room for anything else. My want to look into a prerunner rear bumper some of those lay the spare pretty flat might give you the ability to see the ford lettering.

Seen this yesterday, thought it was interesting. Looks like you just use stock setup. Not sure how it locks on the side.

Can't go under, frame is too narrow. With only 24" between the frame rails and limited options for gas tank locations placing the tire under the rig just can't happen.
You would have to find a skinny spare to try and stick it under the back seat. a standard tire (say a 235/75R15 on a stock steel wheel) is as wide (tall on it's side?) as the seat bottom. Maybe even more so. So stacking the seat on top of the spare is likely going to make the back seat uncomfortably tall.

Upright against the inside of the tailgate is likly the best place you will find.

if its a unwheeled truck then why even have a spare with. Just leave it in the garage inn case you ever do need it. Ive only changed a tire on the side of the road once in my entire life! I never take my spare with anyware.

That's a Ranch Hand attachment for the stock carrier. I have had two of them and they work well if you don't have flares or big tires. How big of a tire are we talking about? There is another spare tire attachment that places the tire inside attached to the tailgate. You might have to make your own to go that way, the originals are pretty rare.

I mounted mine inside. It's setting on the driver's side wheel well and bolted to the roll bar. The rack Ford made was the worst place for a big spare!

how big is your spare? me and my Bro want to also show the FORD! we both run 33x12.50 kind of big for: side or inside. i am considering a tire carrier on the driver side from either the body, as stock or bumper.

Nick had a cool build with custom bumper with the spare mounted in the center and it flipped down. Could still see FORD. I got rid off my stock carrier for that reason as well. I had mine mounted to the inside of the tailgate. I am bumping up from 31 to 33 so might have to change that.
