Ok I know this is about beat to death but I'm ready to buy one and I'm not spending $700-1000 on one. Heck my suspension kit wasn't even that much!!
So when ordering a column I'm looking at the ones from Summit. I'm going black powdered auto column shift no key. My question is what length did you guys use? I'm thinking the 30" but I can get 28". 32" seems too long but I know someone has done it so hearing and seeing one installed would be great.
Thanks all.

It's longer than you would think. I thought I remembered them being in the mid to high-twenties as well. But it's more like 32-35 instead.
Closer to 35, but I would think that range would work.

Thanks KBUCK1 if I had to rely on Paul this could take a couple weeks to get. And still cost me $700 on top of that.
Actually Paul has been a great help, he got me square with my suspension on the half cab!

Ok Paul, give me some part numbers for what you guys have there.
69 Bronco and I'm doing the 5.0 explorer 4R70W swap. I want a column shift no key, black unit. What do I need to shop for in your catalog?
I picked up a 4x4x2 PS box so that will be going in at the same time.
Here's your shot talk me out of the budget friendly unit. lol;)

Just buy the WH complete steering column setup. I tried to do the cheaper way, but it cost the same or a little more. There's always some small parts and pieces you'll need that run the price up on just buying the column seperately

I've heard of way too many issues with the f150 tilts so I'm gonna pass on those, but thanks for the tip.

I can't see adding up another $600 in parts to make the summit column work? I already have my wheel, also a double d joint left from another project so as far as I can tell I'll need about $200 max in parts to make it work. That would put me all in at $400-$450?
I really have a hard time spending $1000 on a complete unit.
My buddy has a summit unit in his old 66 F-100 and it is very nice and works great. I'm a street rig so no serious off reading for this one.

Unless Paul comes up with a super sweet deal!!

I ordered the summit branded column and am completely happy with it. The part number on the one I ordered is SUM-771713B-NK. Thats for a manual column but you should be able to get what you need from that. $230 for the column, $40 for the WH mounting kit Item #: 2904, and $75 for a flaming river joint put me at just under half the price of the complete WH kit.

Dont get me wrong I'm a big fan of WH and order from them often. Is the summit column as nice as theirs? Probably not, but for the price point I'm happy.
