The most common EFI swap is to get a 5.0 explorer and swap it all over with EFI Guys help. It’s a good solid route, no doubt. Although in my case I have a fresh rebuilt engine so I’m going to put Edelbrock pro flo 4 on it. How’s your engine? Original? Or?

Is buying real gas an option?
YUP....buy pure gas and no more gum up's. It's a combination of ethanol and not cycling through enough gas to keep it fresh. This is more of an issue in some climates than others

Explorer EFI is the go to. That said there are other ways. I run SN95 Mustang EFI. With some rewiring you can make lots of things work given time and effort.

I have that problem as well and while EFI is a good solution, I just make sure and start every vehicle or motorcycle at least once a month. I only use Stabil on the boat and lawn equipment.

I'm driving the Bronco once a month and still takes a couple trips around the block to clear out the secondaries,

For what it’s worth, even if you’re running non-ethanol gas and using Sta-Bil, if you have access to avgas (100 octane low-lead) you can mix some of that in and it works wonders for keeping fuel systems clean!

This is the issue.......Each spring I would clean this crap out of my dads golf cart carb........I forced him to pure gas and the issue went way. My Big Bear 400 4 wheeler sits form end of deer season to the beginning of the next with pure gas in the tank. It always fired right up....no issues......

I'm in the habit of turning off the fuel on my small engine powered pressure washer, and letting it run until to runs out of fuel. Just for this reason. Been working for several years, hope that it continues to do so.
I do that on my portable generators and my pressure washer.......but for some reason nothing else......I'm inconsistent

If the fuel pump were electric, then it would be easy to run the float bowls dry after every outing. Same would be true if there were an appropriately sized valve in the supply line to the carb.
As a bonus, either would/could function as a theft deterrent.

Get a bunch of $ ready for the 302 EFI swap, find a good EFI 302 and get all the wiring, computer, 02 sensors, more sensors.....hope you get a good motor or go right to rebuild. Reach out to EFI guy about working over your harness, if he has time.

Sounds like you might need to drop the fuel tank and 100% clean it out. Get all that old gas, Stabil, gunk and junk outa there. Low air pressure, clean out/flush the fuel lines and fuel pump. Make 100% sure the carb is CLEANED out. Make sure you have a pre carb fuel filter.

Check out the pure-gas.org site https://www.pure-gas.org/do and what ever it takes to locate and acquire ethanol free gas, and constantly use it.

Fill your Bronco up with ethanol free gas, or just enough for little trips. Also us the ethanol free in items like lawn mower (rider or push), weed wacker, pressure washer, chain saw, generator, if it has a carb and is 2 or 4 cycle it gets ethanol free.. Also in anything with a pull or key start.

X2 when done with smaller yard use items shut off gas, run full throttle to empty tank and lines and carb. Now for the Bronco some say a full fuel tank will pull less condensation. If you barely or rarely start it/drive it, IMO the least amount of gas the better. But again ethanol free ONLY.

This is how I do it in all my 2 cycle items and my Bronco, and it sets more than it should be driven. Dedicated off roader/crawler with a none gummed up TA carb.
