Ok finally started working on about the fifth project at the same time for my bronco. I got the frame all fit up for my bed cover.
So now I'm trying to decide If I'm going to keep chopping on my fiberglass cover or bag it and go with a simple cloth type with the Velcro on the sides.
I don't like the way the fiberglass one is fitting, it seems fat and chunky which makes the bronco look fat and chunky. Plus a lot of work to make it look and fit right.
Cloth style is simpler to make and will lay flat on the rails so it won't look like the back of the bronco is pregnant.
Anyway opinions are welcome, I'm not allergic to the work but not sure I'm going to like the results of the glass??

I agree with cloth with one or two bows under it, only if no wrinkles and stays tight, or whatever material will be the lowest profile. All the rage now for truck bed covers are tri fold that are a very thin profile and supposed to be waterproof. Pretty clean look.

I like the cloth idea. Will you use snaps?? Im not a body man by no means but have you thought about using a sheet of aluminum with some braces under it?? Then maybe a thin coat of glass to make it smooth...Then you can paint to match the Bronco...I only say this because I have thought about doing that one day. You can use a hinge system with shock like a normal hard plastic cover....Just an idea

I,started with a cover from a late model ranger. The width is the same as the bronco but way longer. I use the rails and cut them down to fit my bronco. The cover is another story. It's close but a LOT of work needed to make it fit right.
Thinking of a cloth type with Velcro like the new ones have. Not a big fan of snaps on a bronco. Too many holes.
My buddy has a fab shop next door to my powder shop and he wants to make me one from aluminum so I'm still open at this point.
