Torque Tamer installed - Questions

I redid my exhaust to make room for the torque tamer. I rerouted the pipes and swapped out the Super 40's for some Hushpower II's. The name hushpower is false advertising (IMO), it's still loud...very loud. But anyway as you can see in the picture when it flexes the front part of the torque tamer is almost on the drive shaft. Is this a problem? There is no adjustment on the end from side to side. By the time you get to that point you will moving so slow (should be) that if it rubs I was thinking it would probably be OK. Opinions from those who have installed appreciated.

The pics show how it is lined up sitting level and how it is when flexed to the point the tires rub.

You could always swap out the hex head bolt for a flat head or button head to gain some additional clearance. Since it's a poly bushing mount, it's only going to get looser with wear.

I agree that looks way to close even unflexed. I would figure it should be near the same distance apart up at the CV as it is down at the diff. Id give Duffs a call and see what they say.

In your third picture the leaf itslef seems to be way too far to one side like as if the bushing was worn out. I think if that leaf was more centered and had firmer bushings it wouldn't be as big of a problem.

You might try loosening the bolt at either end of the tranny crossmember, and seeing if you can slide the transfer case over to the passenger side just a little bit.

Does not look that close on mine.

Can you measure between the bar and the driveshaft on yours when you get a chance. I'm curious how far off mine is. There is no adjustment on that end, not sure what I can do about it other than adjusting the transfer case mount...maybe. My rear axle is centered up, no problem there....not sure about that spring bushing in pic 3..hadn't noticed that before...hardware springs and bushings are new.

The other thread that was linked to doesnt have a simmilar pic while articulated so I am not sure how much use that is.

My main concern is if there is any ballancing weights on the driveshaft that could get caught on it.

Is it possible that the crossmember was installed backwards?

Is that possible? The Trans was rebuilt about a year ago and new mounts and snubber were installed at that time...I assume they put it back the same as it was but can't be sure.

I also have the WH extreme output which is a little longer than stock...but I wouldn't think that would make any difference.

Wrong crossmenber, I meant the one for the torque tamer.

The crossmember for the Torque Tamer will only go on one way without having the attachment point on the passenger side and pointed the wrong way. It's installed per the instructions and like in the other pictures I have seen.

If I get time tomorrow I will contact Duff and ask them about it. Not much way to screw up the install, but if it can be done wrong ...I am the man.

I've been getting up some stuff other guys are just stuck on. No wheel hop! Ran up Slickrock at Tellico last Fall, I was one of only 4-5 trucks out of the group of 15 that did it without pulling the winch cable.
