Any ideas on what going from the c4 to an OD would cost on my stock 1973 with 302? I am pretty sure gears are stock.not really too concerned about fuel economy.. Going to be a driver so noise and comfort is more important.

About $2k for starters, with a LOT of variables.

Need to know the gearing and tire size. Even though you say non-stock, still doesn't mean it is correct with the overdrive.

Don't do a shift kit. The Bronco C4 has a factory shift kit already in it. Putting an aftermarket one in (even a mild one) makes them overly aggressive and they chirp tires and overall suck. Many rebuilders insist on putting one in, they are not doing you any favors. Stock is good.

I've had my AOD since 2006 with a 351W, 4.11 gears and 33" tires. Does very well on highway, but like mentioned before, gearing is going to play a major role. If I had to do it over again, I would keep the C4 unless you are going to be driving on the highway constantly. Losts of money invested for OD when the reality is I don't drive as much on the highway as initially planned...%)
