Turn signals cancel and the horn works again

Well after years of the horn not working I finally got around to fixing it. I have a Grant wheel and the horn button just popped off one day. After buying a adapter kit to replace the old horn contacts, I realized I might as well put on the smooth collar I bought a while back. I also realized I might as well replace the turn signal switch while I'm in there.

What was supposed to be a simple "replace the horn switch" turn out to be a bigger project but well worth it. (aren't all projects that way ;D)

After it was all supposedly done, the horn does a little death sigh and then no more worky. Break out the multimeter and verify that I do get power when the horn button is pushed, so feeling good about my work. Go to autozone to buy a universal horn which of course wont' fit where the stock one was. Fab up a custom bracket and everything's working good.

Got my 12 yr old son to help me which was awesome :D He's usually too busy playing video games. I know there's nothing special about what I did, but thanks for letting me brag ;D It was awesome to get the son out into the garage with me and building my confidence that "Yes, I can work on my own truck".

Hey! Brag away! It's cool your son wanted to help you out. My pops wasnt into working much on cars when I was growing up so I didnt get much opportunity to help him wrench on anything. I did get to replace the throw in piece of carpet he used to cover the big rust hole in the floorboard of his little Ford Courier pickup. After the thing got wet and started growing mushrooms I talked him into replacing it. HA!
It sounds like a good time to start getting your son involved in any projects you can. Maybe some day he'll have his own bronco and will know how to fix it.
On a side note, I see your from Yuma. Me and my family went to the Yuma Territorial prison on a tour in 1982 when I was 12 it was pretty cool to see it. Really interesting.
