Tweaked my frame installing radius arms

Did something really stupid. Took out transmission cross member while welding on WCB extended radius arm brackets. Must have got one side too hot and tweaked the frame. When I stood back and looked down the frame one side was bowed in about 3/4'' of an inch. Could not possibly install the NV3550 cross member. I used a jack and was able to spread the rails enough to install the bracket. The frame appears relatively straight. My question is since the frame is bare (body off build) at this point, could a frame shop check the frame for trueness ?

Somewhere on here (possibly a vendor site) there is a drawing with all the critical dimensions for the frame. Should be able to check yours against the drawing.

I wouldn't get to concerned about the accuracy of the frame. There is no accuracy, I just re tiged every weld on my frame, re positioned my body mounts( some of them were 3/8ths of an inch off from inside of frame rail to outside of frame rail, about 2.5 inches!) I had to cut my rear cross member, heat and roll out driver side rail clockwise from the rear. Just sight down ur lines and generally square things up and u will be more than fine. From one Broncos to the next, the metrics are very inconsistent.

Sorry but I seriously doubt your frame got hot enough to tweak it due to welding on those brackets. If you are doing the 12" arms the brackets dont even fit properly in the back-- which is a shame but thats for another story. I bet if you double check your measurements its an optical illusion. The other post is right though-- the bronco frame is literally the worst welding known to man! Its almost like the union idiots were training on the bronco frames because the quality and the splatter is terrible. With that said the splatter and the way everything is welded also shows that the welds were very hot and probably not going anywhere. Double check I bet everything is still good.

I also doubt the welding really tweaked your frame. I've seen quite a few older vehicles that when the tranny crossmember is removed the frame bows in and it can be tough to reinstall the crossmember and skid plates.

No optical illusion. Thanks for the encouragement buckintone. I also re welded everything. I used a jack to spread the frame rails enough to install the cross member which fit prior to welding the brackets (actually had 1/4'' gap prior to welding) then a rose bud to heat up around the bracket. It seems to have done the trick. Thanks All !

Fairly normal. Transmission cross members usually require a little bit of force between the frame rails to get them in. You didn't tweak it, fear not.
