Under hood storage Z box installation question?

Hey Guys,
I bought one of the Z boxes a while back and am ready to install it. I see the description says to use a thick bead of silicone. For those of you who have installed one. Is that all that holds it in place or do I need to drill holes and screw it down as well?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply! I thought that might be a better approach, just wasn't sure.

Don't use silicone on sheet metal, it causes rust....

I think I used nutserts and fine thread fasteners on mine - I'll have to check. In any case, it's recommended to use both. Glad to hear you have the Z boxes - never dreamed they'd take off or still be for sale today.

Mine's been in place at least 15 years - no rust issues.

A storage box that is installed in place of the plastic air intake on the drivers side, under the hood.

Here you go -

When Tony Ramos was showing me the '66 I bought from him, I remember asking if it had a leak because I noticed the cover.%) From years of Mustangs I was familiar with the "cowl cap" that was sold to cover a leaking cowl area on them. https://www.cjponyparts.com/scott-d...MIwKj7vcKJ6gIVA4NaBR07RgUrEAQYASABEgLW-fD_BwE

He opened it up and pulled out the wired remote for the hidden winch. That's what's still stored in mine to this day.

Thanks for the reply. Love the box too Sir! My body has Raptor liner there so I can't imagine rust being a problem either.
Have a good one!
