Value of used 302?

Not a for sale thread, but looking for some advice on what you guys think my 302 motor is worth?

I have no idea how many miles are on it. It runs but needs a carb tune, always started w/o issue. I'm gonna drop a new crate motor in and will want to get some value out of the existing one. Any ballpark idea of what it would be worth to a private party? My assumption is not much, what do you think?

In the vehicle and able to drive it will make it way more valuable than an engine sitting on the ground.

How complete will it be sold? Distributor, carb, intake, etc.?

An engine sitting in the corner of the garage in unknown status is nothing more than a core. $50 and a little more if intake, carb, distributor are in place.

Running, driving, do a compression test. That adds real value. 5X as much as one on the floor.

Selling used engines can be hit or miss. Sometimes they go for good money quickly, other times you can't give them away. Local conditions dictate a lot.

Thanks. About what I figured.

I've heard Jasper will take OE motors and offer a "credit" towards a rebuilt one, have not confirmed however.
