short story, my stock arms are messed up. stock rockers end up costing about 150 bucks, so i decided to go with rollers, preferably crane because they seem to be the least expensive. are their other reputable vendors you guys use? i normally stick with summit, so i dont know any others except with a google search.

The last time I bought Summit brand rockers they where proform which worked just fine in a 400hp motor for 40000 miles dont know how they are holding up now but id have no problem running them again. Most of summits stuff is name brand parts just bought cheaper with no name and sold thru them. I would say crane does have a much nicer product and would be my first choice.

Keep in mind they require taller valve covers. Clearance can be tight with power brakes. I've had far better service from summit. The couple times I tried jegs there were issues with the parts and they weren't very good about it.

Are your heads setup for adjustable rockers? or do you have pedestal style? Most stock ford heads used in broncos had rail rockers and really need to be converted to screw in studs with guide plates along with getting hardened pushrods before using roller or adjustable rockers Not sure what your looking at but comp cams has several versions of roller rockers that appear to be cheaper than the crane rocker arms.

i have the crane adapter kit for pedestals. i stumbled across the comp cam rockers yesterday, and they will work fine and are in stock on the comp cam site. also i dont have power brakes, will have hydroboost. my understanding is the gt 40 valve covers will work with the roller rockers. will order pushrods after we measure.

I am running scorpion rockers in my 347 Stroker and put a set in my 351 for my crawler. No issues...

I bought them from Summit after finding them for a lower price somewhere on the web. Summit priced matched, gave me free delivery and I had them in a couple of days. Cant beat that.

Im running scorpions also, they will not fit under stock mustang valve covers with out a lot of grinding.

Depends on the year of the valve covers. Prior to '91 they had the extra support ribs inside that get in the way of rockers. '91-'93 valve covers didn't have those. Pretty easy to grind out though. Grind out the baffle supports too. Add a baffle to the tube and polish them up.

I have crane rockers on the '74 and had to grind and use 5/16" gaskets. The 351W for the new Bronco has scorpions and the same treatment.

For a stock rocker replacement with stock height Valve Covers I have had great success with Comp Cams Magnum Roller Tip Rockers. They are stronger then stock, fit under any valve cover with NO mods, roller tip, and have 1:6 or 1:7 ratio.

I usually order from Summit too. Part number CCA-1442-16.

I agree with rquest on the magnum rockers. All the local engine builders tell me they are the only ones that fit with no modifications to the valve covers. I don't want to loose the baffles that keep some oil from going out the breather and PVC.
