Vent Window Felt Install?

I’m fixin’ to put my vent windows back in the door, and thought it would be a good idea to put the main glass felt strip in first. The original has a cutout on the inner surface a couple inches from the bottom and a curved metal strip riveted on. My new ones, actually been kicking around here from JBG years ago, don’t have those features. Are they needed?

Crickets! The cutout apparently prevents the felt housing from being pushed out by a pair of rivets on the vent assembly, and the curved metal seems to lock the upper vent track run in place to the lower front track run. Whether or not they are essential, I’ll defer to Ford, as they prob wouldn’t bother if those features weren’t needed. I figure I’d prob bugger the felt assembly removing it if I tried putting it together without them first so some drilling, cutting and riveting later, ready to put a vent in:
