I agree with slick and teknalee. What's so bad about it? How many of you guys have Chevy disc conversions, Chevy tie-rod ends or Nissan power steering boxes? Its 30 year old iron, its way past that tired old debate. Don't get me wrong, I bleed Ford blue. My 3 cars are an 02 F250 powerstroke, an 01 Escort and my EB. How many of you guys who bitch about dropping a bowtie mill into an EB have bought your wives a Honda or Toyota? Are you wearing Chinese shoes or have Chinese tools from Harbor Freight in your toolbox? I would hope we could cut more slack to a proud American company like GM, even if we're Ford guys, than we do to a communist regime that builds cheap tools and shoes with slave labor that you're buying to finance the nuclear weapons that are pointed back at you.

Oops...got carried away ;D Oh well, live and let live.

This is why I bought a '76 with factory power steering and I buy Craftsman. I am not a hypocrit....well except for the Caddy calipers and the CJ-7 rotors in the rear. Engine is just going too far. Everything else is cool (well except 10-bolts)

Who cares. A Chevy 350 is a good engine. Simple and solid just like the Ford engines. It will get a EB down the road and up the side of a hill just fine. I'm not a Ford guy. I'm not a Chevy guy. I just like classic cars/trucks. I don't give a rat's ass who built it; they're just cool. To each his own. I just saw a couple of Jeeps and a Land Cruiser with a Chevy drive train. It can't be all that bad.

My apologies for wasting bandwidth with a reply. I usually don't even bother opening threads about the Ford vs. Chevy debate (or the auto vs. stick, or carb vs. efi or any of the other tired old debates that keep popping up over and over). This one sucked me in with the poorly chosen subject line and I guess I was bored enough to offer my $.02. Which I must still be bored because here I am wasting just as much bandwidth explaining why I wasted bandwidth. OK I shut up now.

I agree, as much as some hate to hear it, for now anyway my daily driver is a chevy Z-71 w/ a 350 and I love my truck, but I also love my EB, so far I have kept Ford-Ford and Chevy-Chevy with additions/modifications and will try to do so in the future but that doesn't mean I won't switch it up to save a few bucks. My .02
