Just checking to see if the vintage air system and compressor would work with the explorer serpentine conversion? I am definitely during the conversion, would it be easier to use the explorer compressor? thanks
VA requires you to use a new compressor to keep the warr. good but other than that the exp. unit should work fine. If you decide to go with the sanden compressor I have an adaptor.
The standard VA AC systems compressor will not work with the explorer serpentine set up. The BC system has a bracket or conversion if you ask for it to make it work or you can simply buy a new compressor from a local parts house for an explorer.
I went with the classic air system and purchased a compressor from a local parts house.. The compressor prices are the same, save some on shipping.
I was really asking if I bought the complete vintage air kit would it just bolt up to my explorer serpentine set up? It looks like BC Bronco has a complete kit that will work. I like the all in one kit. Did not look like you could save to much if you pieced the kit together.
No, the complete kit from BC will not bolt right up to your Explorer serp setup.
You have two choices......
buy the complete kit and the conversion brackets that BC supposedly has to mount the Sanden compressor to the Explorer bracket OR
buy the kit from BC less the compressor and then get a new compressor for an Explorer from any auto parts store.
