For those of you that made your own bumper / mount for the 8274, I’d love to see some pics.

I’m mocking things up and don’t love what I have so far. Winch Mount will extend almost 10” forward of the grill.

If I don’t find a design I like, I’ll be selling a couple of winches.

Here’s a couple mockups. Ignore the short 2x4 steel. It’s scrap I have laying around and just using for layout.

When i first built my Bronco i fabbed up this bumper for my 8274.It sure did add a lot of weight to the front end but still drove good. I just sold it to friend building up his Bronco.

When I purchased my Bronco. It had a DIY bumper and 8274. I removed it and went back to a stock bumper. Because the Bronco was going to be my daily driver. That bumper and winch sure was heavy. Sorry not a very good picture.

Thanks for the pics and links. I may sit down with a sketch pad after pulling dimensions. Cost of steel plate $$ which is def a consideration. I could sell these 8274s and buy a HF winch that’s slower but has great reviews with a lower profile… and put money in my pocket!

I just like the old school look and performance of the 8274.

I got $600 for my used 8274 on eBay. Back in 2011. I intend to purchase the Badlands 12k synthetic rope winch, at some point.

It’s already been put out there but bailie built would be my go too. I’ve been beating on mine for years. Like them well enough I even put them on Momma’s exploder, slightly modified of course lol.

For what they are they are not that heavy either.

I have a plan…. It should turn out halfway decent… possibly may be even a decent bumper…
