Hoping a WH associate writes or I can always wait to call this weekend, but does the 31 spline axle shaft combo come with everything I need to install the shafts. Do I need to buy any seals, retainers, etc?

Same here. Ready to drop in and install. You just might want to put extra grease on the the bearings but not required to do so.

I'm doing a small bearing 31 spline and ARB as we speak.
On the small bearing the axles come with bearings installed and retainers but you have to order the seals separate which they offer.
As a matter of fact I just had to order a second set of seals because I f...ed one up using too big of a hammer to drive it in.
The bearings are sealed units.

Correct. If you order an Extreme set for a large-bearing application, you get the Set-20 tapered roller bearings with their integrated seal already installed. If you order a small bearing setup, or one of the Heavy Duty axles with the standard large or small roller bearing setups, you order your two axle seals separately.

Most of our axles have the bearings pressed on already. If that's the case, then obviously the retainer is included as well. Usually an aftermarket "C" type retainer that can be removed and installed without removing the bearing.

Just make sure you specify what year your axle is, and what size bearing you need to fit your housing.
If you have a later-build '73, a '74, '75 or '76 housing however, it really never hurts to absolutely verify your brake size, retaining bolt size, and bearing size too. Just to be sure. Way to many changes thereabouts and the possibility of PO changes as well.
You've had yours for awhile though, haven't you jperry? If you have and are comfortable in what you know about it, order away.

And where are you exactly? Reason I ask is that if you're in the South Bay Area or somewhere between Stockton and San Jose, I can bring them with me any Monday and we can meet up for the hand-off.
You can PM me if you're in one of the areas you think we might be able to work it out.

Have you had any issues installing the axles all the way GP?
I've just heard that occasionally the guys using ARB's run into axle shafts bottoming out in the diff before the bearings are seated all the way.
So just checking.

If not, great. If so, it's not an issue to cut off a little of the tip of the axle shaft.
I say "not an issue" since it doesn't harm the axle or it's strength. It is however an issue because of the extra work you would have to got to before finishing the install!

When in doubt, a long dowel or broom handle can tell the tale.

I'm not there yet. While you guys are building my third member I had Cory ship out all the other parts so I can get going on wiring/installing the compressor. I'm glad he sent the seals, so after me screwing up one it didn't set me back time wise.
Thanks for the "heads up" on the axle length. I will have cut-off wheels ready just in case.
