What are these hardtop holes for?

My hardtop has a few holes in the pillar area on both the passenger and driver sides. One of them has a bolt in it and is painted the same color as the rest of the top making me think it came from Ford like this but I am not sure.

the holes appear to of been there prior to the original factory paint? can you tell if that is the case? interesting if so

I was thinking about that too Mary. I checked my coat hook and it is mounted a lot higher. Yours seems to line up with the hole in question.

Be interesting to see pics if some other’s rigs, Mark.

Would think the holes would be consistent. Checked another and its placement is similar to yours. And both of these are ‘74s. 🤔

I also had a coat hook on my top but it didn't look as nice as the ones you guys have.
