I jacked the back end of my bronco up. spun one tire until i got one full turn on my driveshaft. I don't even think i got one full rotation on my tire, before i got one rotation on the driveshaft. Is this right? Doesn't sound right to me. If it is, what do i have for gears?

you got it backwards. You have to turn the driveshaft until the tires have rotated one full turn. It is best to mark a tire and line it up against something stationary to be as accurate as possible. Count how many times the driveshaft has turned and that's your gear ratio.

leave truck on all fours, Tape the end of a string about 2 feet long to the bottom of the driveshaft, put in neutral, Push truck forward so that tires makes one full rotation, Count the wraps of string on driveshaft. 3 1/2 wraps = 3.50, 4 1/4 wraps = 4.11, 4 1/2 wraps = 4.56

There is other ways to find the ratio but I have not come across a simpler way. Good job madgyver, the name is on target.
