Hey guys, I've got a tough decision on how I want to go about fuel injection. I've got a 302 in my garage ready to be installed but I am also very interested in finding a 351w out of a 90's bronco for the power and torque. But I know it will be more costly to inject the 351 than to inject the 302 (intake swapping, adapter). I guess my question is, should I keep my 302 and use the mustang efi or should I sell the 302 and find a 351 for the power and inject it although it will be more costly? What do you guys think? Any advice on what you would do?? Is power and torque going to be a huge difference between the 2?

I did a holly projection on my 351w and the rats ate it. Went back to the the holly rock avenger carb and had no problems yet. I will get propane one day though. If you want the 351 get the 351. Injecting the 302 is nice but if it doesn't make you happy what's the use?

What is the benefit of adding EFI?

EFI can sometimes give ya better gas mileage, a little easier starting during winter.. in a lot of cases, More reliability on trails w/Steep inclines..

If you search on here, u can find a lot of different opinions.

don't get me wrong, a LOT of folks run the original 2bbl carbs all day long w/out any issues.

its all what you need it for, i mean the 351 is going to be a good deal more torq, and you will feel it, the 302 is nice i have one and you can throw a 351 cam in there and make it a 302 H.O. which will make it even better. i have no complaints on my lil 302, but i have not driven a 351, been in my buddies that is a 427 not the same but like i said before what do you really want. If money is not an issue do the 351 as mpgs are not all that different maybe not any difference at all. but if money is a deal breaker you will be paying more to stick in the 351. if i had the funds i would do a 351. tho if i had the cash i would go 4bt. :)

5.0L with Gt40p heads and intake with 91 stang efi on mine, revs easy still need to test drive it. 351w rv cam 75 heads, gt40 intake, 91 stang efi, larger injectors and MAS sensor on my brothers, test drove last Saturday and he felt more power than when he ran the deamon carb.
I decided for the 5.0 cause I want is as much as a daily driver and the smaller engine will be a bit more efficient. He wanted the reliability of EFI and his engine was rebuilt 5K miles ago.
the most expensive part of the 351W efi swap was the lower intake, the upper you can get from an 5.0l explorer. for all EFI installs the fuel system can be expensive, 2 external pumps or a in tank pump with a $500 plus gas tank!

If you do the mustang EFI conversion to your 302, all the hard work will be done. To swap to 351w later, you need the 5.8l lower to 5.0l upper adapter from BC broncos and the right 5.8l distributor. The 5.0l stuff will swap right over otherwise.

I'd EFI convert the 302, and if that isn't enough, swap to the 351w down the road.
