Hey are these center front seats/armrests an aftermarket thing or are guys making them out of some other vehicle? I know Stroppe had an option for it but I have seen a few of these exact ones surface on ebay the past couple of weeks but they are not Stroppe. I would love to pick one like it for my summer U13. so I can both of my kids for rides instead of have a fight on who goes first or who had the longest ride. ;)

Thanks Jeff

I had that problem with my daughter and our roadster when she was at home. I've owned my roadster since 96. So I bought a nice original factory bench seat and installed it. Actually I think I bought the whole bronco and saved the seat and parted the rest out. Couldn't believe the seat was in that good of condition. Anyway it was in there till she moved on to college. After that I reinstalled the buckets.

Hey frenchy,

Yes, I thought to find a stock bench seat but they can run a lot of money too! I figured if I did buy something like the center seat/armrest when I'm not trying to jam three people in the the U13 it makes a great addition for an armrest for two people. I would get it covered in the stock 66 silver to match front seats. So if I can figure out what this one(ebay) came out of that would be ideal.

I had one in my Bronco when I bought it. It was the stock type you see in one of the pictures. It didn't fold down.

My Bronco has a little seat like that between the buckets. but it isn't attached to the body, just is sitting between the seats on the floor, and it lower than the buckets.

Yea I see your point, it's getting harder and more expensive to buy a bench seat. I would say that seat on ebay would be the way to go as long as you don't have to drill holes in the floor of your roadster to mount it.

Yeah, I'd make it so it mounted to the stock mounting holes from the driver & pass. seats. I'd have to get it and come up with some kind of mounting bracket for it. But picture it in 66 sliver correctly mounted between freshly recover 66 seats. I'd think it would look good and right all at the same time!

So, is that seat a Ford thing or out of something else?

I had a '90 Ranger that had a 60/40 bench. It was actually a pair of buckets but the driver's side had a growth to fill the gap and add the 3rd seat.

That guy is using my pictures of Stroppe seats from my web site. I remember taking those pics in 99! He's gotta be on here somewhere, scrubbing vinyl dye off his keyboard.

I would say he's making them from scratch, they do look like the stroppe models though..

My '72 Sport when I bought it was pretty much untouched and it had the center armrest that folded up to become a seat. Appeared original, same level as the seats etc. I think it was an option that year.

Nope I don't think he is. Look at the hinge bracket it's to clean to be a homemade thing and it has a molded plastic cover over it. That's is way to hard to fab up plastic covers like that! I think I found out what he is using but I need to do a little more confirming. Please stay tuned...

That is the fold down rest/seat from a Jeep Grand Wagoneer's. They are also in full size trucks like my 75 J10. Should be able to find cheaper on FSJ (full size jeep) sites or even search it on ebay.
