That's an.......interesting... mix of parts. The body lines actually match up rather well, with a little cutting and welding, it looks like. In fact, I think the tailgate is welded shut.

I've always kinda liked the body style and size of the Bronco II's, just the ridiculous wrap-over rear side windows killed it for me. Well, that and the gutless engine, weak drivetrain, IFS, hatchback....

That one is pretty close to me, for $600, I might take a chance on driving my wife into a raving frenzy about "dragging home another piece of sh*t". Rip out the mechanicals, drop in a 5.0, 5 speed, 9 inch, and a front D44, figure out some kind of top for it - sure would make guys take a second look out on the trail:

"What is that, a Bronco, or a Bronco II?"

"Yes".

It's an '87. You can tell between the warning light cluster and the 5-speed shifter. I know them a little too well.

I've seen other rebodies over the years. Full early Bronco, right down to the hood and windshield. Little funky as the dash speakers and defroster vents are under the hood. And the pair of famous early Broncos on Ford Focus underpinnings.

I wonder what a BroncoII quarter panel skin would look like on an actual early Bronco? The flare and fuel door...

I ran a BroncoII for 6 years. Actually one of the best used cars I owned. 200k and I finally put a fork in it, Rock solid 20 MPG and loved the 23 gallon tank. Moved cross country with it, went back and got a second load as well.

I rode in one once and found that it was a passable off road utility vehicle with what was then modern creature comforts. It's main problem was that it could not live up to it overachiever grandfather, a common problem even among humans.
