Can someone please tell me what years of vehicle I can get a mini starter that will fit my Bronco w/ 302 and standard trans. I would like to source one locally.

Just make sure you don't ask them to look one up for a Mustang. Somehow Ford finally figured out how to use the same starter in both auto and manual applications, but just for certain cars!
Messes a lot of people up if they have the wrong type of transmission.

I'll bite, what's the advantage to the "mini starter"? Does it work with a C4 auto?

Smaller, lighter, higher torque, more distance from headers to keep away from heat.

You will need the one for an automatic.

Mine will turn the engine over with 9.6 volts. Not well but it did spin the motor over a little. Impressive. The stock type one would just click with even 11 volts, lol.

May be it would turn the engine over on even less voltage. I just happened to have the volt meter out at the time.

The "mini starter" is a great upgrade, that's why Ford changed to them on all of the later 5.0 and 5.8 SBFs. It will work perfect with your C4 if you get the one for an 94 F150/Bronco with a 5.0/5.8 and automatic. You will need to change the wiring a little but it's super easy.
