disc brakes, '76
power brakes, '73 optional
dana 44, '71
power steering, '73

i think all of the '76's and '77's came with power brakes, but i've seen a '76 with manual brakes, but it didn't look stock.

check out www.broncohio.com for all the options and specs.

Disc brakes were optional in 75 but very rare. 76 was standard
Power brakes not availible until 76
D44 half way through 1971
PS availible in 73 but Stroppe models were fitted earlier like 71 or 72 but it is different from the factory box

Power steering and the Ranger package are documented as comiong from the factory on a late 1972 here in ABQ even though those options are suppose to be prpesent only on 73 and later.

Power brakes were never standard equipment. They were an option even in '77. I have seen many '77s with manual brakes. I am fairly sure discs were also options in '76 not SE, but not sure about '77. I would assume they were options.

Yeah theres always the transition period where a standard equipment item may or may not be present All the factory sales brochures that I've seen listed power disc brakes as standard equipment starting in 76 I'm sure there are some 76's out there with out disc's or power as there may be some 77's also without power as towards the end of the run if there wasnt enough parts they put on what they had.
Case in point.
My 73 Ranger came with a C-4 and Tshift transfer case but all written spec's say it should be a J shift

:p :p :p Also back in 66 ford dealers has a power steering for the bronco. But they wernt very good bolted on top of ths steering box were the steering rod go's in and were about 9" long. The Co. that made them went under. I have only had one of them and it leaked bad could not get parts to fix. I got the info from Garner Ford in san bernardino ca. About 1970 ;D ;D ;D Bill :p  %)

Discs were standard in 76-77, but power brakes were an option. Power steering was also an option, not standard. Big Bearing rear ends were standard in 76-77, as well, with 11 inch drums.

Keep in mind that these are factory equipped. Many Broncos have had parts swapped into them. Disk brakes are so common now it is getting hard to find one still running front drums.

My '69 has electric wipers, D44, power steering, power brakes, automatic, Disk brakes. None of that is stock, just swapped in.

I have seen a nice clean '77 with a manual drum brake D30 and manual steering. Someone harvested the good parts out from under it and put there junk in to roll it off to the next person. So check the parts, not the years.

Too true.

My old 68 had a disc brake D44 in the front. Also my buddy bought a set of axles the seller had pulled from a '68 and they turned out to be a D44 and a Torino end BB 9" (so 74-75 only). That turned out to be a great deal for $100.
