Whats the purpose?

Can someone tell me the purpose of the brass washer that goes between caliper and brake hose connection? I discovered that I left mine off after getting the whole system bled with no leaks. wondering if I need to pull the hoses, install the washer and re-bleed. Thanks for any advice

That is the gasket to keep it from leaking.
VERY VERY important.

x2. It seals the brake system there. Brass is soft so it acts as a gasket.

That is called a crush washer and yes it is important to use it.

Me too. Last time I had to thro heat to one mine n still had to find new ones
