You could be right, anythings possable with Broncos, I have a 68 with no side marker lights with an 11/67 build date. I think they just used up the old stuff then started putting in the new. Mine has a 302 but it didnt come in it. I have the original 289 motor still
I have a 69 and it has the original 302. I think in the back of a JBG catalog it will say, there is a lot of usufull info about bronco's, years and what came in them.
%) %) %) If you got a earley 68 you got a 289 if it was a late one it came with the 302. I cant tell you the date not sure I think they just used up the 289's then changed them over. Both are good motors even that I go for the 351W in the bronco love the torque. ;D ;D ;D Bill %)
Mine is a 68. The stock engine was a 289, but the stock heads had 302 cast into them. If you really want to know what you have measure the crank. The 289 has a stroke of 2.87", and the 302 has a stroke of 3.00" I agree with wildbill, 351 Windsor is the only way to go.
