I have been looking also. It looks like one from a 67 Mustang might be close?

The NOS ones pop up eBay now and then. I bought 3 this year. Not cheap but out there.

Bc broncos and others sell a similar remote mirror, not exact though.

I've looked also, and don't think one is one available. I read somewhere on here that the mustang one is available, but is smaller than the ones that were on the broncos.
Mine is pretty badly pitted. Does anyone know if they can be rechromed?

Remote mirrors

I used a FORD TORINO remote from the seventies. :cool:Mercury also used the same mirror. Works and looks perfect. They do sell repops on Ebay. You will have to do a search though. GOOD LUCK.

I've also been looking for one. Knew about the mustang option, just haven't made the purchase. Glad to hear the Torino or Mercury ones from the 70's are a good choice too.

Wish the one from Tonka's link wasn't so outrageously priced. I mean do they actually think someone would pay that kind of money? Maybe I'm wrong and there are those who can. It's certainly nice enough, I'd buy it.

I also wonder if they can be re-chromed? Since the inside is a different finish, would a chrome plating shop be able to duplicate?

I just happen to have one in the stash I bought from a guy who was closing a gas station last month. I haven't listed it in the classifieds yet because it needs a good cleaning. PM me for pics and a price. Judy

PM sent!

So, I'm not sure about forum etiquette...

Does the OP get first dibs for Judy's mirror or is it first come first serve?

Wow, lots of people looking for mirrors! Go ahead Jane, will probably buy a new mustang one or something similar. If you don't buy it, Judy I would be interested Judy as long as it is in good condition.

Thanks, but I didn't end up purchasing it. I was hoping for NOS and this one is not. I hope it works out for you. :)

Got a smoking deal on all 3 together

One for the Stroppe. Gave one to my bud Carper for his birthday and save one for the future.

Yes I need help. My wife thinks so too

You can get a new remote mirror for a 68 Cougar here:

http://static.cougarpartscatalog.com/2001052.html

It is a bit smaller than the Bronco and the bolt pattern is shorter. I have a pitted Cougar remote in a parts box that I can photograph next to the Bronco's remote which is mounted on my Bronco if anyone wants to PM me with their email.

The Cougar's remote has a slightly different base than the Mustang. Cougar's is T shaped while Mustang's is L shaped.

My 68 Cougar has an original remote mirror on it.

I lucked out on the Bronco remote mirror as it looks brand new...off eBay a few years back for something like $50. Problem is I can't locate the longer plastic gasket. Tried to cut an old inner tube.....FAIL! Anyone know where I can score one? If not, I will make one from black plastic, I guess.
