where's the best place to mount air filter on E.F.I.?

I went to a show yesterday, and on the way back, the Bronco started loosing power, and sputtering when I gave it gas...I have the air filter mounted on the left side of the radiator...It was 93 degrees out, and it seemed like it was sucking hot air from the radiator, causing it to loose power...Has anyone else had this problem? Where is the best place to mount the air filter? TIA

P.S. I drove it today, for a short distance, and seems to run fine...

Mine sits there too , but I have noticed that if my bronco sputters when it is hot outside , it's because the fuel is hot or the fuel filter is dirty .

You will get the best performance with cool air ducted to the air cleaner, thats no secet. Cooler air has more oxygen per cubic measure. No modern car or truck sucks it's air from the engine compartment. Even back in the '70s they were doing this. I don't think 93* ambient air would cause a stumble or sputtering tho. High temp can effect ignition parts, at least on older tech parts.

That could be it too..I might try a wooden close pin to the fuel line to stop vapor lock...I still might try to relocate the air filter to get cooler air...

I have mine mounted on the pass. fender with no problems with heat. (K&N straight off the mass air)

I mounted mine under the PS Hood vent where the heater gets its cold air. 8) RB
