Keep an eye on Ebay an angle bracket made to fit the Astro 90-93 booster is Should be showing up soon.
It bolts up to the firewall.
Fits the earlier fenders, with use of the Camero or Corvette MC.
Booster bolts up to the bracket, no enlarging the bracket holes or cutting & threading the booster push rod.
Has adjustable petal linkage rod.

Here is a sneak peek.

Thanks, but I already have the BC Broncos vacuum booster bracket, so I want to use that as my starting point.

I don't know anything about hydroboost braking systems, but I did laser cut this 3/16" or 1/4" thick part for a member here a while back (I can't remember who). He said that it was for a hydroboost system.

Just thought I would throw this out there if it can help anyone.

Hi Herb,

Sorry I took so long to respond. I have been extensively traveling for work since November! Unfortunately, I have not further researched this topic. I got side tracked with installing my NV3550 (a terrific upgrade!). I was actually waiting for Chuck's new hydroboost bracket he mentioned earlier in this thread. Hopefully, he will introduce his new bracket soon :) If not, I will perform this as my next upgrade and post my results. Best of luck with your upgrade and please let me know how everything works out.

I beleive most any would work fine. I installed on kbldawgs BC bracket and it was really quite easy do to the pedal adjustment thats built into the BC bracket. We used an astrovan hydroboost unit for his. Maybe he will see it and throw up some pics of his setup

I run the same unit on a duff angled bracket.

Ben

I'm pretty sure my hydroboost was eith a 95 or 97 AstroVan (I'm loosing track of all these doner vehicles.). You'll definately need the 1" spacer though.

kbldawg,

Three questions.

1) Did you have to use the spacer because of the length of the h-boost pushrod, and you didn't want to adjust the length of the pushrod?

2) Are those metal spacers, or just pieces of small pipe?

3) A bit off topic, but what is on the driver's fender side of your h-boost unit, some sort of pressure limiter?

thanks,
Herb

1. Both actually. the rod was shortened and we still had to space it out to take up some length. We could have take the bracket apart and modified but just didn't feel like going that far that day?

2. I beleive they are just metal spacers that kbldawg purchased.

3. that is an adjustable proportioning valve for dialing in the brakes a bit better.

I don't have one, but I can't imagine it's much different. The stock brackets do point down to the inner fender a bit though, so you might take that into account if you decide to use the 76-77 bracket.

having the pushrod at a slight angle is not a big deal. ive had mine at a few degree angle for a few years now with no issues. mine's mounted directly to the firewall with a 1/4" plate of steel behind one side to give it a slight angle away from the engine.

bigmuddy's right on.

I bought the spacers at Lowes. If I ever take it apart, I may weld the spacers on so that it's easier to get the bolts in and out.

The adapter directly behind the hydroboost I made out of some flat stock so that I would have something to bolt the hydroboost unit to the bc bracket. The one that came with the hydroboost was angled and wouldn't work right without modification.

Gotcha, there are small difference between all the brackets including the stock bracket. Most all of the aftermarket brackets have removed the slant down to the fender. You will still have to deal with the spacer though IMO.

Chuck, is that a firewall bracket or a stock power booster bracket bracket? ?:?

From Chuck's eBay ad:

"This is our new hydro booost adapter bracket. It was designed to mount the hydro boost to the firewall using stock EB firewall holes. You can adapt the stock brake rod to fit the GM hydro boost of your choice that has internal accumulator."

The internal accumulator units use metric o-ring fittings. It appears the master cylinder is one of the Chevy ones that uses standard 3/8" fittings.

What options do I have with an 06' Superduty hydroboost? It has a bracket with 4 studs off the end, and the hydroboost is on that with a big a$$ nut?

Casey:

I have a tool to remove that nut if you ever want to take the plate off.
