77 D44 with a t-style conversion for the steering linkage; 3.5” Tom’s lift with a pitman drop arm

Do I have the wrong end link? Or the wrong drop pitman? Or do I need a sleeve? End link is too long / doesn’t torque down. Pics follow - note the flat machined surface below the threaded stud that stands above the pitman arm.

Depends on what you ordered when you bought the T-linkage. If you bought it for a 77, then you indeed need a 76/77 Pitman Arm with the smaller hole. Or a tapered sleeve…
Personally, I’d try the tapered sleeve, since it’s less expensive. Unless your current Pitman Arm is lining things up incorrectly that is.

Have you looked at the angles with it mocked up like this? It’s the drag link parallel to the track bar?
Sometimes you need to put an arm with less drop in these cases, or a standard Pitman Arm and a very slight drop bracket for the track bar.

Never mind. Looking at the pictures again I see that you do have an additional drop bracket on the track bar frame and. However, it looks like your track bar and drag like our miss aligned as they stand now. You might try putting the set up in a different hole?
How about a picture of your passenger side? Looks like you might need to just raise the lower end of the drag link up a bit.
It’s pretty typical to have it adjusted facing forward, but it actually needs to face up at a 60° angle.
How is yours adjusted?

@DirtDonk - perhaps my Google-fu is weak but I can only find sleeves for a f150. Do you have a part number or something in mind? Does the f150 sleeve work?

Hmm, I thought we had a third model, just a little smaller than the #2382. Don’t see it though. Just this one, and the one for flipping an F150 tie rod over.
I had tested different combinations for different applications a few years ago, but it’s been too long and I don’t remember the results off the top of my head. I really should have written all this crap down over the years!

Maybe someone here can come with better info (even on my own parts!) or first hand experience and tell us if perhaps it is the 2382 that works in this case as well.
The tapers should be the same, so ultimately it might fit. Hate to have you pay good money to get it to your house, though, just to find out it’s not the perfect solution.

Let’s see what some of the others say. We know the Pitman Arm solution would work, but it would be nice if the sleeve would work in your case.
If ours isn’t the perfect solution, there are other companies that make sleeves.
In the meantime, I’ll see if somebody can grab one and slip it over a 75 rod end and into a 77 Pitman Arm.

You might check Ruff Stuff Specialties as well.

Solution found (I think….). Supposedly, the f150 knuckle shims are the same dimensions as that which is needed in the 68-75 pitman arm for the 76-77 draglink to fit correctly. I’ll let you know once the package arrives!

Thanks to all for the suggestions and guidance. Hopefully I can call this bump resolved soon!

the taper is the same but deeper reams on all 3, 66 and 76-77 are the smallest, then 67-75, then 78-79 stuff. The sleeves may fit but might need some sanding on the bottom to sit "flush".

I can handle that…. $30 shipped vs $80 plus shipping is worthwhile effort to me!

Thanks again to all!
