Not trying to hijack this thread but I was looking at the nv3550 behind a mild 395hp 385 ft# 351w and most of the vendors I spoke to tried to talk me out of it as beyond the transmission limits. I researched and read plenty on the nv3550 and heard some reports that they sound full of marbles, heard a few people grenaded them, heard some 408 stroker motors cant hurt them. Is there a good resource to learn first hand from those that use the nv3550 and how they fair?
I drive an ecoboost 3.5 ford, nice quiet sleeper motor would be great in an early bronco, gobs of torque at low rpm

A lot will depend on how you treat it. Roll on the throttle is much nicer than slamming gears without lifting off the throttle.

The 3.5 is a quiet engine when all the factory soundproofing is in place. There are huge silencing panels all around that engine bay. Get them in the raw and they don't sound that great. A lot of real (not shadetree) engineering goes into that NVH package.
