I'm not much into wrenching any more. When I did, change clothes for sure.

I'm kind of a neat freak. I would always say to my EX "I'm one neat son of a bitch", and she would say "you got that HALF right!" ;D

I wear camo pants and stained Bronco tee shirts. They were good till I wrenched in um,then they become shirt if choice. Did ruin a carhart jacket last year when I dropped the filter into the bucket of oil on my 7.3 ,Diesel oil seems worse than regular oil. So now I have a dedicated wrenching jacket.

I thought this was only me. If I know I have a big project I will put something on just for the task. But I find myself getting into stuff thinking I'm not going to get dirty. The last time this got me, I have a plug on my C4 pan. I pulled the plug and let it drain. I put the plug back and planned on pulled the pan the next day. The next day after work I crawled under the truck again and pulled the pan. Knowing I pulled the plug the day before I should be able to drop the pan with no mess, Wrong ....the dam thing had about 1/2 qt that filled the pan. Messed those work clothes up.

My wife gets pissed if I ruin my good clothes so I've learned to wear the shitty stuff when I wrench, that way if I ruin something, oh well, no biggie. ;)

I get totally filthy. If on the rare occasion I let myself go do some work on my machines without changing I have just added to my work on equipment clothing. The other morning I was out under the shed roof just wanting to take some pictures of old Caterpillar parts I was putting on craigslist. This was before heading to work, I swung into the shop. Stepped back and my leg hit the lid of a 5 gallon container of gear oil. Black smudge on my pants. GoJO hand cream will usually get the grease out of cloths, but it is a pita.

LOL bout the same with me, I could go out there just to sweep the floor and end up filthy from doing other things.

My good clothes are, just clothes that I haven't got dirty yet.

/\/\ That +1
Went to breakfast with some friends, ended up going to two junkyards before I made it home.
Goop hand cleaner (the white stuff) is great for removing grease from clothes.
