ok i think this is a good question. who makes a complete repair manual for the early bronco. when i say complete i mean from wiring schematics to all things mechanical on the truck. does bentley make a manual they seem to make a very good manual for my vw bug. very thorough. the next question is who sells them. does anyone have a real deal ford service manual they want to sell. i would think that would be the best publication of the truck. any help would be great thanks.

Factory manual is good.
But I refer to my Haynes book often.
Chilton book is ok.
I think you should have all three.

Start a collection. They all have different qualities. For Chilton, go to a used book store and find an early version that does not include the full sized Broncs. They have a publication that covers only '66 through '77. Last stop - use this board... it rocks!

I like the Chilton i got from Tom's, I had the Haynes before and it just seemed to generic to me so I don't refer to it any more. If I can't find it in the chilton i surely can find it on here.

Nothing is even close to the factory manuals. I took mine and cut out all the pertinent bronce specific items and made that my reference. The factory is AMAZING and accurate to your specific year. If you do not want to spend the money I found the chilton most useful but it doesn't even come close to the factory manuals. BI

All three work but the factory set has the most info. I use the chassis volume the most. the others are not used as much. I like the hayes for its wiring diagrams and the chilton is pretty complete. Although now all I usually need is the torque numbers as I know my bronco like the back of my hand.

The factory manuals are great but they don't have schematics. There are some good sites with the schematics on-line but if you can find the Ford wiring diagram manual for your year model it has a lot of info you can't find anywhere else.

The set I have for my 73 has the wiring schematics volume 5 I believe or might be 6. But they are not the best I like the Haynes schematics better.

The 74 set (5 vol) dosen't but I do have the 75 wiring diagram manual. The diagrams are 17x28 in. foldouts and include connector diagrams and a wire color cross reference.

Thats sounds about like what I have for my 73 I'm not positive that it came as part of the set I think you had to request the wiring diagram you wanted as the sets cover many vehicles.

It depends on what you are doing. The manuals I've bought are all incomplete when it comes to specifics like engine, transmission, and differentials. I had one chilton manial for Bronco that told you to go to a brake specialist when you needed brake work!

While probably a nice to have item it has no practical use today as your not going to get factory replacement parts so the part numbers listed will be of little help.
