Just installed these. Haven't run them yet but it looks like I may have some rubbing. 3.5 suspension 2BL.

how many broken axle parts do you guys have wheeling? I know this is a general question and depends on alot of factors. But I'm trying to decide if I can run 36 tsl's on stock eb d44 without it. I'm used to big stuff on full size broncos so this is taking a step back for me as far as strength goes. thanks

I think the 36" swampers, 37" big brand tires are the cutoff for the 44, thats what I have come to see and experience. I guess thinking about it the broken stub came when I was running my 38's (they were my street tires and decided to enroll in a rock crawl comp at the local Jeep dealer). 36" Irok's are my wheeling tires. And if you are going big on the lift split the difference between the body lift and suspension lift to help with driveline angles, otherwise at least cut down a HP D44 for the front. I have seen a lot of people with either real expensive front shafts or having issues while running the 5.5" susp lift. I know Mad gets away with it but then again he gets away with a lot more than the rest of us ;D

Ouch! You broke while competing at a Jeep Dealership? That's no good!

Pic's in my gallery. I've run 37" MTR's for about 4-5 years with a Dana 44, warns axles with CTM's. Been on some of the tougher trails the South West has to offer. Broke one outer in Las Cruces when I was backing up under hard throttle. I agree with most folks 37" tires are about it for a Dana 44 and depending on your rig and driving style they might even be to big.

Hahaha, serious!!! At least the year before I did have the best score till they brought out the competition buggy, that wasnt fair at all. I broke this past year but the Broncos did win all the categories at the Jeep competition...I'd have gotten the hard luck award but I had to drive home (had my 2 little boys with me and it was nap time).

I've got 36 TSLs, d44, stock axles, cheap u-joints. I pretty much expect to break something at howiepalooza

I'm running 36x12.50 TSLs on a stock D44. My ride doesn't see any rocks though, only mud. I also don't have a lot of time on the TSLs, so we'll see.

Running 37x12.50x15 PJs with 3.5 suspension lift and 2 in body lift

Broke a right front u-joint and left rear axle shaft at the same time. Ditched all of the stock stuff and now running dutchman front shafts and yukon 35 spline rears. Never had a problem with the stock stuff when I was running 33s

Here's a pic right after it happened. Winching up to a flat spot to do repairs. Those of you who wheel around here, this is the first ledge on Daniel at Uwharrie

Have wheeled 33x12.5s on a Dana30 for years and never broke an axle or axle u-joint. Have exploded the carrier twice though (2nd time was bad setup I think). I just put 35's on and we're going to give it a whirl with the new NP435 turning them. I have a Dana44 sitting in the weeds waiting for the day I break my 30 again. I figure if I can make my 30 last this long with the things I've done, I can make the 44 last a good while too.

I know several guys running 36x14ish sized tires on a 44 with no more issues than somebody running 33s on a 44. But they all run automatic transmission which I think makes a huge difference in how well your axles hold up. That torque converter takes a lot of pain out of the axles.
